Darcy held the successful vision for a transportation logisitics centre in Alberta’s Industrial Heartland…

Darcy Heggie is the founder of Alberta Midland Railway Terminal Ltd., having held the successful vision to put together a transportation logisitics centre in a dynamic business environment such as Alberta’s Industrial Heartland.  Darcy has held this position since 2012, and has been responsible for the fundraising and financing activity related to the project’s development, directed the environmental and permitting process, and now has the key role of CEO and directing the marketing and business development for the company.

In addition to his AMRT duties, Darcy is a member of the Executive at R.K. Heggie Grain, and directs strategic business development activities for this family-owned grain company in southern Alberta.  Darcy was an instrumental part of the development of Transmark – a rail logistics park south of Lethbridge, Alberta that R.K. Heggie Grain remains a founding shareholder of.

In 2007, Darcy became the Founder and President of Lethbridge Inland Terminal Ltd., and led the financing, development, and construction of an independently operated high throughput grain handling facility.  In 2013/14 Mr. Heggie oversaw the successful sale of Lethbridge Inland Terminal Ltd. to Glencore / Viterra.  Mr. Heggie holds a MBA from Syracuse University and a B.Sc. in Business from Utah State.  Darcy and his wife, Shanda, have two children and are active in sports and community affairs in their home town of Raymond, Alberta.
